Since insects love homegrown vegetables, too, John Dromgoole shows how to control them with organic techniques. He explains how to identify and control squash vine borers, corn earworm, spider mites and aphids. He also shows how to recognize beneficial insects, like ladybug larvae, that help gardeners keep pests in balance. Fungal problems are also an issue, especially blossom end rot on tomatoes. John explains why it happens and how to deal with it. Photographs courtesy of Bruce Leander, Austin, Texas.
