Understanding HPs Intelligent Management Center with Les Stuart

HP Distinguished Engineer Les Stuart talks with LockerGnome's Brandon Wirtz at HP Discover in Las Vegas about the HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC). Most Enterprise IT teams have six or more management interfaces for handling LAN, WAN, voice, security, access control, and other aspects of hardware configuration. IMC is designed to reduce the number of management consoles required and create a level of accountability around the configuration change process. Many IT networking changes take place with only one review step, with the person making the change being the same person that approves and takes the change live. With IMC, accountability and an approval process helps get all the management interfaces combined into one common interface, whether your gear is from HP, Cisco, IBM, Foundry, Juniper, or many other solution providers. The staging of changes allows for a second or third set of eyes to review those changes and help reduce downtime caused by mistakes, while also eliminating the need to learn a new interface each time an additional hardware component is added to the mix.
