Andy Gabrielson and Corey Johnson intercepted a supercell southeast of Akron, CO on June 21st 2010. A brief tornado spins up in a field near a farm stead less than half mile away! Then the storm picked up speed and over hauled them, they were right behind the tightest portion of rotation and we're blasted with 70 - 90 mph... golfball size and torrential rain. A tree blows over just beside their vehicle at the same time the passenger side mirror shatters!
