Our society, though often putting precedence on having over being, is very sensitive to examples of poverty and solidarity, which believers offer through their courageous choices. The Pope said this today during the general audience catechesis dedicated to the mendicant orders like Franciscans and Dominicans, who in the Middle Ages brought "a breath of new life to the world."
