The President of the Republic of Croatia, Ivo Josipovic, was received Saturday morning by Benedict XVI. During the cordial talks, the country's regional situation, expected challenges, and factors that promote stability and strengthen peace were discussed. Also recalled was the old yet still living Catholic tradition of Croatia, as well as the importance of respecting this identity and promoting the common good through constructive dialogue between the government, the local Church and with all sectors of society.
