We had such great response to Sean's docublog on Maker Fair,and when I saw Dale Dougherty editor of CRAFT and MAKE magazine and founder of Maker Fair at SXSW Interactive, I wanted to find out more about his overarching view of how building do it yourself (DIY) communities can be similar to building online communities. I especially like when Dale stresses, "Don't think competitively but think cooperatively. Think about sharing and be apart of other people's blogs as well." As a 1 year old blogger, I know that when people respond with feedback to this site, there's nothing more satisfying because it's the sign that I'm building a new community -- so to speak. So when I read something on another blog that I can really identify with (or get angry with!) I do my best to put in my 2 cents.
